DMT Fest '09: Boston

 As most of you are already aware, this coming weekend we'll be hosting the fourth annual DMT Fest, this year in Boston, MA. We've got roughly 25 folks who've said they can go, but anyone else who's in the area and interested in attending is more than welcome - just check out the private forum to coordinate with us.
In terms of scheduling, we'll be canceling all DKP raids for this coming week, as usual. We'll be picking up again on Tuesday, 7/28, working on the hard modes we've made progress with already.

New Officer Selections

With a significant gap in time since our last round of officer selections, we've finally managed to settle on our next picks. For Cycle IV, we'll have the following as officers, both returning and new: Colphaer, Longthorn, Lorrec, Merliin, Muggus, Quenlill, and Reinbach.
To the folks from our last round, thank you for your help in keeping Deadmoon steady. We faced a significant set of challenges in moving up and through Black Temple, and our finish was by no means guaranteed. For our new selections, thank you for stepping in. With the summer months approaching fast - and a good selection of difficult new content - we'll need your help to keep pushing forward.

DMT: 4 Years On

As of today, Deadmoon is officially four years old.
Every year around this time I end up reflecting on exactly what it is we've witnessed as a guild. We're now in WoW's second expansion, having formed just one month after the original release of the game; we've survived the rocky transitions between different raiding environments; we've had friends come and go, and have run three fantastic out of game DMT-Fest events. Were it not for the excellent people we've met and recruited along the way, none of this would have been possible.
While most of you don't remember the earliest days of DMT, all of you have inherited what truly is years of effort, our unique position on our server, and most importantly - our name. To all of you who have helped to make that happen, thank you.

DMT Fest '08

For the third year in a row, we've lead a successful gathering of our DMT crew and friends - this time in Tampa, FL - over the past weekend. With the final tally standing at 34 people attending, it was also our largest DMT Fest to date.
All in all, we had a fantastic time staying up late, drinking too much, and taking time to meet folks who hadn't had a chance to attend our last two events. Thank you to everyone who attended, housed rowdy DMT'ers, manned the grill, and ferried folks around - and most of all to Cheri and Teya for successfully leading and organizing this event for the third year running.
Best of luck to everyone heading out - it was excellent getting to meet so many of you again.

Djon & Co. - ZA Bear

This past weekend, we managed to clear through all four ZA timers for the first time. While not a critical achievement for our larger progression, it did take a good level of focus and commitment in order to finish the place out.
Congrats to Malfizen on the mount, and special thanks to Djon for driving the group through to success.

Cycle III Appointments

As mentioned last November, we are continuing our periodic updates to our officer positions. For the next week, until Monday at Midnight, we will be receiving notes of interest for a position for this coming Cycle. We will announce the selection for the next 4-month period on April 1st.
As with our last round of appointments, please keep a few things in mind when applying:
- While we aim to maintain our administrative roster long-term, it's unlikely that we'll be looking at a major overhaul with each cycle transition, though there will usually be limited changes.
- If applying, please keep in mind that there is a good chance of not being selected for this round. If you're likely to be worried about this, please contact a council member in game.
- Anyone looking to join should send a PM to me with a (brief) note of why you're interested and how you feel you could contribute.
Again, if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please look for Cercyon, Darksilver, Nosfer, or myself in-game.

DMT - Three Years On

As of today, Deadmoon is officially three years old. While we never could have anticipated where we would be by now when the guild was first founded, it's been an impressive - if challenging - experience. We've managed to survive numerous down-turns in server and raiding stability, including through the release of the expansion, to become one of Gorefiend's longest-standing guilds.
To all of you who have helped make it possible, members past and present, thanks for your support.

Announcements & TK Advance

For the coming two weeks, we've updated our raid schedule: we'll be attempting to run T / W / Th for at least these next two weeks, and possibly permanently through the future, if it works out. You can read about that in the details of our TK planning announcements here.
In addition, with this last week we put into effect our first round of new officer selections - a system which we'll bring up for next review in mid-March '08. You can read more about the appointments here - special thanks to everyone who has offered to take on these positions.

With 2.3 prepared for tomorrow's downtime, we have released a number of updates to the driving policies behind DMT's long-term roster maintenance. These changes include the following:
- Officer positions and selection process.
- Main character / switching policy.
- Two new forums for information sharing / strategy discussion.
- Our ZA approach and basic policy guidelines.
- A look at some of our administrative goals for the remainder of this year.

DMT Fest '07

Last weekend, DMT held its second annual gathering in Lexington, KY. With more than 30 attendees from many different sections of the country, the event was considered a great success - thanks to everyone who put in the effort to come.
Moreover, we'd like to thank everyone who helped with the coordination of the event - most of all Cheri, who managed the majority of organizing the details of the event and making sure everyone was where they needed to be.
