Wrath of the Lich King
Posted by Tazzomax on Thursday, November 13 @ 01:03:58 EST (14 reads) |

After months of lead-up, the inevitable is finally here: Wrath of the Lich King has been released, and with that Deadmoon enters its second full expansion.
While the next couple weeks will mainly consist of folks leveling at varying paces towards 80, we do have important organizational elements coming up: we'll be preparing for multiple Naxx groups, registering main swaps, tweaking our DKP system, and looking out for new blood well suited to DMT's style. While we won't be changing anything overnight, every expansion presents a new set of challenges that we'll aim to meet head-on.
Covering those and other issues, we'll have more later. In the meantime, enjoy the content.
See you in-game,
- Tazzo

Illidan Down; Done Before 3.0
Posted by Tazzomax on Tuesday, October 07 @ 01:16:13 EDT (114 reads) |

On the tail end of a tough haul through BT over the last few weeks, we've finally managed it: Illidan is down.
With 3.0 just around the corner, this was our last real chance to finish out the fight before it no longer mattered. We've had good shots at him over a long period of time now - but as with many guilds, we've run into successive roster issues, especially with the expansion coming so soon in the future. At no point was this fight a foregone conclusion for us: we've had to work for it.
To everyone who's logged the hours to get here or supported us on the way, whether you worked on the fight with us or not, thank you for your dedication. The simple fact is that with the conditions we've faced, most groups would have given up a long time ago. Here's to you for getting it done.
Kudos,

Council Cleared

With only two shots to try it tonight, we managed to bring down the Illidari Council, in one of our best late-run performances through BT so far.
With the state of Gorefiend raiding being what it is right now, this hasn't been an easy feat for us - we've had to persevere through scrapped raids, core membership burnout, and flukey mid-BT performances. On the whole, however, we've managed to keep things together, and with tonight, finally strike down the last barrier between us and Illidan.
Thank you to everyone who's helped to keep us going, both new member and old - well done.

DMT Fest '08
Posted by Tazzomax on Wednesday, July 02 @ 11:58:12 EDT (73 reads) |

For the third year in a row, we've lead a successful gathering of our DMT crew and friends - this time in Tampa, FL - over the past weekend. With the final tally standing at 34 people attending, it was also our largest DMT Fest to date.
All in all, we had a fantastic time staying up late, drinking too much, and taking time to meet folks who hadn't had a chance to attend our last two events. Thank you to everyone who attended, housed rowdy DMT'ers, manned the grill, and ferried folks around - and most of all to Cheri and Teya for successfully leading and organizing this event for the third year running.
Best of luck to everyone heading out - it was excellent getting to meet so many of you again.

Djon & Co. - ZA Bear

This past weekend, we managed to clear through all four ZA timers for the first time. While not a critical achievement for our larger progression, it did take a good level of focus and commitment in order to finish the place out.
Congrats to Malfizen on the mount, and special thanks to Djon for driving the group through to success.

Silencing Shahraz

As of tonight with a little under two hours of work, we've manged to work through Mother Shahraz, putting just one remaining fight between us and Illidan.
Thank you again to all of you who worked to get your shadow resist up to the required levels - we'll continue to smooth that out over the coming weeks.
While we haven't dropped Hyjal from our schedule yet, we'll be continuing to push ahead on these remaining fights over the coming months, making the best use possible of our limited raiding time. Please be sure to check the theorycrafting forum for information about what's coming up.
Good hunting and well done,

Reliquary Sealed

Last Thursday we managed to bring down RoS. Though it took a bit longer than expected, we managed to work from a broken strategy to one that should serve us well over the next two months as we prepare for the last three fights of BT.
As a reminder, please continue to finish out your SR gear so that we'll be ready to load in for Mother Shahraz next week.
Great work again,

Finishing Out Bloodboil

As a quick follow-up to our Archimonde kill yesterday, we've managed to bring down Bloodboil - excellent work to all of you for adapting our strategy so quickly there to get the kill. This puts us at 5/5 Hyjal and 5/9 BT - while we've still got a long way to go before finishing this place, we're well on our way.
See you next week,

Hyjal Cleared

After our first Azgalor kill of three weeks ago, we've focused on maintaining our BT progress while working on Archimonde. On our third night of heavy attempts, we've managed to bring him down.
While we've certainly got plenty of work ahead of us, I do want to thank you all for working hard at managing our progress through this fight. He's designed to make a raid group turn on itself, but you've all made working through it not only possible but distinctly satisfying. Kudos to all of you for taking personal accountability so seriously as we worked through our strategy.
Congrats and thanks,
- Tazzo

Major DKP Update
Posted by Tazzomax on Sunday, March 23 @ 16:41:20 EDT (198 reads) |
|
As announced at the end of Thursday's raid, our DKP system is undergoing a major update, effective immediately. The DKP Policy page has been updated to reflect these changes, but here is a summary of the major points of change:
- "Set" (or tiered) items are no longer distributed differently than non-set items. All items (including quest drops) are distributed by silent auction. We will no longer use a system of "highest DKP" distribution.
- Silent auctions are no longer conducted "Ebay-style": raiders will pay the exact amount they bid, and we will not announce the second-highest amount.
- The minimum for all items has been reduced to 100 DKP.
Points in favor of and against these changes have been under discussion for 4-5 weeks, so this isn't a hastily considered change. For some of the motivating factors behind the decision, read on.
