It took a good chunk of dedication and gold, but we've managed to bring down the heroic version of the Northern Beasts in Coliseum-25. The normal modes for all of the ToC fights proved to be very easy, but this one required a significant amount of work and a challenging numbers game. We're still one of only a few guilds on our faction to have taken them out, so thank you to everyone who helped us push through.
We'll be back in the mix again tomorrow, trying for our first repeat and another look at hard-mode Jaraxxus.
Good hunting,
- Tazzo

Val'anyr

After several months, and some interesting shots in at 3/4 Yogg Saron, we've managed to finally complete the 30-fragment legendary: Val'anyr. This marks the end of our primary focus on Ulduar, and makes our own Darksilver one of very few people on our server to bear this as a weapon.
To everyone who helped work towards this objective, thank you. While hitting Ulduar repeatedly wasn't the easiest thing in the face of Coliseum, we're certainly the better for it.

DMT Fest '09: Boston
Posted by Tazzomax on Monday, July 20 @ 22:20:00 EDT (78 reads) |
|
As most of you are already aware, this coming weekend we'll be hosting the fourth annual DMT Fest, this year in Boston, MA. We've got roughly 25 folks who've said they can go, but anyone else who's in the area and interested in attending is more than welcome - just check out the private forum to coordinate with us.
In terms of scheduling, we'll be canceling all DKP raids for this coming week, as usual. We'll be picking up again on Tuesday, 7/28, working on the hard modes we've made progress with already.
Hope to see you this weekend,
- Tazzo

Yogg-Saron

It took some work to get time on him, but after a couple days logged, we've got the main fight from Ulduar down: Yogg-Saron.
As with our previous kills, June is always a tough month to keep raids moving - thank you to everyone who's worked to make sure we could push through the material. While there are a few other guilds who have already downed him, he's by no means an easy fight, and continues to elude the majority of those hitting Ulduar.
Coming up, we'll be working to keep Yogg locked down, gearing up for the hard modes we'll be taking piece by piece pre-3.2. Stay posted for updates, since July's going to be a busy month for us.
Good work - and thanks,
- Tazzo

Ulduar: Keepers & Vezax

As of Monday, we've managed to finish out everything prior to Yogg-Saron: Freya, Hodir, Thorim, Mimiron, and finally, General Vezax. More importantly, we've managed to hold things together through what's always a difficult time of year raid-wise for us - thank you to everyone who's been able to sign up to help keep things moving.
Coming up, we'll be working to compress our existing material down to the point where we can get serious work in on Yogg-Saron.
Good hunting,
- Tazzo

New Officer Selections

With a significant gap in time since our last round of officer selections, we've finally managed to settle on our next picks. For Cycle IV, we'll have the following as officers, both returning and new: Colphaer, Longthorn, Lorrec, Merliin, Muggus, Quenlill, and Reinbach.
To the folks from our last round, thank you for your help in keeping Deadmoon steady. We faced a significant set of challenges in moving up and through Black Temple, and our finish was by no means guaranteed. For our new selections, thank you for stepping in. With the summer months approaching fast - and a good selection of difficult new content - we'll need your help to keep pushing forward.
Good hunting - and thank you,
- Tazz

Ulduar & Changes

While we haven't been posting the kills individually, we've been working away at the new content provided by the 3.1 patch in the form of Ulduar. We've managed to work through each of the fights up through Auriaya; while some of these have been short enough encounters, it's still worth posting most of the shots for a look back in the future. One interesting - and refreshing - aspect to the new material is that the difficulty level is definitely a step above what was released with 3.0. This content is less PUG'able, and has provided us with some great last-second first kills. While it remains to be seen how it will scale over time, there's a good chance that this content will help mitigate some of the scattering effect we've seen from the easier style of instance previously worked on.

Malygos

After a couple nights of work, we've managed to bring down Malygos, meaning we've finished out the currently available raid instances. While by our previous standards this is a quick achievement, our folks did a great job working through an enounter not immediately accessible to many of the raiding groups out here.
This latest iteration of available raid content has certainly presented an interesting new approach of Blizzard's: specifically, we're all in agreement that what's been staged so far is significantly easier in terms of difficulty curve as compared to the TBC content we worked through starting with SSC. We'll likely have some time before new any new 25's material is released, so in the meantime we'll be looking to refine and prepare for what Blizzard has mentioned is likely to be significantly tougher than what we've seen so far.
Good hunting,

DMT: 4 Years On
Posted by Tazzomax on Thursday, December 25 @ 23:52:04 EST (196 reads) |

As of today, Deadmoon is officially four years old.
Every year around this time I end up reflecting on exactly what it is we've witnessed as a guild. We're now in WoW's second expansion, having formed just one month after the original release of the game; we've survived the rocky transitions between different raiding environments; we've had friends come and go, and have run three fantastic out of game DMT-Fest events. Were it not for the excellent people we've met and recruited along the way, none of this would have been possible.
While most of you don't remember the earliest days of DMT, all of you have inherited what truly is years of effort, our unique position on our server, and most importantly - our name. To all of you who have helped to make that happen, thank you.
Wishing all of you well through the holidays and the new year,
My best,
- Tazz

WLK Raid Beginnings

Over two weeks, we've managed to clear out our first full-25 instance with Kel'Thuzad down, along with some of the prior minor-25's.
Coming out of the relatively demanding environment that TBC presented for us raid-wise, the pacing has been an interesting change of pace. While we can expect the complexity of raid-level encounters to be higher down the road, Blizzard has once again thrown up a new approach with this expansion.
We'll continue to shore up our Naxx performance as we push ahead over the coming weeks - be sure to check the signups for any updates.
Good hunting,
- Tazzo
